The two numbers on the label, explained

This is where MagMind confuses people. Magnesium L-threonate products list a large figure for the compound and a much smaller one for elemental magnesium, and both are correct. A 2,000 mg serving of magnesium L-threonate delivers roughly 144 mg of actual magnesium.

So if you're comparing this against a magnesium glycinate on milligrams alone, you're not comparing like with like. Look for the elemental magnesium figure on both.

Why this form costs more

Magnesium L-threonate was developed specifically because it crosses into the brain more readily than other magnesium forms. That's the reason it exists and the reason it's priced above magnesium citrate or oxide. If you want magnesium for muscles or sleep, a cheaper form does that job perfectly well.

Taking it

Ninety capsules. The serving is split rather than taken all at once, so check the label for how many capsules make a full dose. Many people take part in the evening.

Magnesium in any form can loosen your stomach if you overdo it, though threonate tends to be gentler than citrate or oxide.

Check with your doctor if you're pregnant, nursing, taking medication or managing a health condition.
